How long has this thing been running?
Since December 1987 we've offered a Christmas service and an Easter service every year.
What's the worship band like?
We only use a pipe organ.
No, really.....what is the worship band like?
OK.....They are an awesome bunch who love to worship and know how to make worship come to life. For youth and those who "used to be youth," it really is a treat to worship with this band. If you had to label it, the music "rocks!"
Is it cool?
Well, cool is kind a relative to one's perspective. But, ya, we do try to be cool. We actually have expert research people who check out what's cool in movies and music and stuff like that. Then, if something fits, we use it. So that's kinda cool. Oh, and we use 3 video screens and well, that's really cool.
Is the service only for youth?
No. It's for anyone. There are more youth than not-youth, but there actually are lots of wanna-be youth, adults, parents, and even seniors.
How many people will be there?
Lots!
Like, what happens?
Stuff. Skits. Music. Video. Stuff. Some talking. Some praying. More stuff. Lots of worship. Through all this stuff, the goal is to have fun and create an atmosphere where people can freshly think about their understanding of Jesus and their relationship to him.
Why are there two services?
We can't fit everyone into one service.
Are the two services different?
Not really. Though the 8:30 p.m. service tends to draw an older crowd and this tends to affect the feel of the service.
Which service should I attend?
Well, the early service traditionally fills up faster and has lots of youth energy. That's a plus for 5:30 p.m. The plus for the 8:30 p.m. is that those leading the service actually know what they're doing by 8:30 p.m. so that's a plus too.
Is there food?
Oh yah! And drinks too! Lots of them.
How much does it cost?
It's free. But, it's not free for us though. We actually have major expenses for sound, stage, light, video, food, and church rental. So, we have a free-will offering. If you can help, that would be great. We are totally dependent on people's support. We can even give tax receipts! Those interested in making a donation can also do so before or after the service by contacting our Finance Coordinator, Stephen.
What should I wear?
Whatever you want!
