Hello interweb. I was asked to do a kind of reflection on my character
(I'm Adam and I played "Adam" by the way, hi).
So I thought I'd start off by talking about who my character is in
a nutshell: My character basically represents the section of society
today that really has turned away from where God is and is too skeptical
or unwilling to make a tough choice and a long journey to be close to
God.
Adam is an alright guy, I mean he's just trying to go along and help
out his buddies Max and Joseph. He's willing to start this journey because
he figured it couldn't be that bad and frankly he cant stand another
minute alone with his girlfriend (she always wants him to get her evian).
But when he finds out that this journey is more than he'd like and harder
than he planned his head gets clogged with selfish thoughts and he decides
he will go no further. Adam can also get easily influenced by his friend
Max, sort of a peer pressure deal. They both react off each other and
make situations worse and are downright mean.
He`s lived like this for his whole life and so when all of a sudden
he is needed to make this big change he can't handle it so he freezes
and can't move. Adam has never really had God as a part of his life.
God was just someone who was there but they kept their distance. God
didn't bother Adam and Adam didn't bother God. And so when it comes
down to something extremely difficult he has to do for God not realizing
how important Mary's baby is he scuffs it off and goes about as if he
could care less, when in reality he's scared of a change.
Adam is scared that this huge change he knows is coming could make
his life uncomfortable and so he'd rather run from it. It`s easier to
run in his life. This represents society because a lot of people I know
dont like change and would rather just keep things the way they are
so nothing worse could happen.
Basically when it comes down to it Adam screws up big time, he misses
the boat on a chance to help God into the world. And Herod's thugs didnt
exactly have a pillow fight. Adam should have moved When God asked him
to. But he didn't.
Check out Psalm 40. Verse 2 sounds like the writer was pretty stuck
and couldn't move. Good thing God leant a hand.
