April 01: No Thanks

So with the theme on my own, I’m the person that hates being “on my own”. People who know me really well know that I’m a “clingy” person and tend to be with certain people all of the time. I’ve been told this and I understand that I might be in their “personal bubble”. But one of the great things is that they understand (after I talk with them and let them get to know me more) that it’s just who I’ve become, and I try to be not “clingy”.

The main thing triggers this I guess is that about two years ago my Mom, Lori Freeman, had passed away and it was really hard for all of us to move on. I’ve learned a lot since then, including my fear of being left all on my own. My Mom was there for me when I needed help, most of the time.

After my Mom had passed away I really began to learn about who I was. I grew in faith, and as a person. Christianity meant a lot more to me than it did before. The problem is that every one needs to learn to be “on their own”. One of the only ways that we can do this is to trust in God to guide us through. We still need to learn to take the actions we need to make. It’s our decision if we want to trust in God or not.

One of the ways that I have solved the issue of on my own is that I have this amazing friend from school that I met in grade nine. She seemed to really care about me and wanted to help me out. She is still helping me out and knows a lot more about me than most other people. Although she is in another country at the moment, I know that if something really overwhelming comes up in my life she’ll be there to help. I trust her so much. I know that not only she, but God will be there to help me out as well, and I trust God as well.

So I will send out this advice to any one who chooses to read and believe, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not trust in your own understanding. Agree with Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight.” (Prov. 3:5-6). Don’t forget that a good trustworthy friend can help with your life as well.
